The eThekwini Municipality is in the process of restructuring Public Transport (PT) within the City in order to ensure that a sustainable, safe and efficient service is delivered. The overall goal of this initiative is to improve the quality of life for the City’s residents through the establishment of an Integrated Rapid Public Transport Network (IRPTN). This PT service in the City will ultimately be in line with government’s PT Action Agenda as approved by Cabinet in 2008 where all major Cities have been mandated to create and implement fully integrated Public Transport Networks over the next 15 years.
